A Day in the Life of a Freelance Camera Operator

My alarm goes off at 4:30 AM on game day. By 5:15 I'm loading the truck with my FX9, Sachtler tripod, and a Pelican case full of cables. The call time is usually 6 hours before kickoff for NFL games, 4 hours for NBA. Once I arrive at the venue, I check in at security, grab my credential, and head to my assigned camera position. The next few hours are a blur of cable runs, lens checks, white balance, and rehearsals with the director. When the red light goes on, all that prep pays off. After wrap, I break down my gear, drive home, log my hours in Work.WitUS, and start prepping for the next show.
